A snap of a Curlew feather I found during a recent guided tour of the RSPB reserve in Conwy. Curlews are large wading birds who love our Conwy estuary and the mudflats it creates. I enjoyed my trip round the reserve, which was greatly enhanced by having a member of staff and a group of mixed ability 'birders' with my friend and I. I learned new facts relating to our micro-climate on the north Wales coast, and even some geology. The highlight for me was using the telescopes to watch the birds on the islands of the man made lakes as they flew into the reserve to shelter from high tide. Using hired binoculars was also fun. Overall I found the trip relaxing and a pleasant mix of socializing and pursuing mindfulness. Feather shown on wallet for size.
